Kapileswara Swamy Temple

A short ride of 3 Km away from Tirupati lies the serene temple of Sri Kapileswar. This is the only temple dedicated to Lord Shiva within the almost 50 mile radius of Tirupati Temple. Lying in the lower foothils of the mountains the temple is an ode to calm and serene beauty that Lord Shiva is an symbol of. Yet the most important attraction of the temple is the spectacular waterfall right beside it. The huge temple stands at the mouth and the mountain cave in a steep and vertical face where waters of the mountain stream Paapa Vinasam fall as the huge waterfall Kapila Theertham or Alwar Theertham.
